Can you hold a place before I apply?
Unfortunately this is not possible. We require approved applications before any apartment can be held. -
Do I pay first month’s rent and last month’s rent with my security deposit?
No, you would pay your first month's rent and damage deposit only. Your last month's rent is due the last month of your tenancy. -
How old do you have to be to apply?
You have to be a minimum of 18 years of age to apply. -
Is the deposit refundable?
Yes, once you have vacated your apartment you can then apply to get your damage deposit back. Deposits may be held depending on the state of the unit or if you leave before the end of your lease. -
Who needs a cosigner?
Depending on the applicant they may require a cosigner. Our leasing agents will advise if a cosigner may be needed. -
You have a property I want to rent. How do I apply?
Please reach out to the assigned leasing agent to receive a rent application. If you are unsure of which leasing agent to contact, please reach out to listings@canadahomesforrent.ca. -
How do I pay rent?
Please review your lease for all rent payment options. - We collect rent through a number of different ways using e-transfer, pre-authorized payments, post dated cheques, Visa or Mastercard. We do not accept cash! -
I want to get a pet. What do I do?
Please email your property manager for approval on any pet requests. -
I want to move out, but my roommate wants to stay. What do I do?
Please email your property manager for next steps. -
My lease expiration is coming and I want to move out. What do I do?
Please send your notice to notices@canadahomesforrent.ca. Please note we do require 1 month's notice. -
Who is responsible for paying for repairs & maintenance requests?
Paying for repairs is the responsibility of the owner if the issue is caused by something in the building. The resident of the unit is required to send in maintenance requests to maintenancesj@canadahomesforrent.ca.
